Indonesian Night, a night to remember!
Indonesian Night was a blast! The hosts Aidan, Cemi, and Michelle assembled as an all- star team to bring us a fun night with lots of hilarious moments as they toured us around the peninsula. We had a competitive game of trivia, learned how to tie a ketupat 'indonesian rice cake' holder, and finished off filming lots of viral Indonesian Trends (our attempts at the Mannequin challenge will remain hidden in the vaults). In the end, we were stuffed from all the martabak, indomie, geprek, Aidan's grandma's sambal, and memories.
Belgian Waffles with Faustine
The room was filled with waffles and toppings galore! Faustine, our intern and host from Belgium shared about her background and culture. We learned fun facts about its customs, chocolate, and French fries (Belgian classic). Then came the main event: making our own waffles, topped with chocolate syrup, powdered sugar, and heaps of berries. We made new friends and had great conversations, thanks Faustine we hope to see you again :D
Do Desh Ek Dil: 2 Countries 1 Heart
Ek, Do, Teen, lets go! 2 Countries, 1 Heart was the brainchild of our friends Fatima, Gurleen, and Paramjot. Wanting to showcase similarities and shared cultures between India and Pakistan, they put in months of planning to bring us a night of inside knowledge and memes (GRAPE!). The spread of delicious foods included huge samosas, biryani, and homemade rooh afza (herbal rose syrup with a special ingredient: love). It was a harmonious collaboration between the two countries that ended with a Bollywood style dance class.
